There is a spirituality behind Cinema that is not often appreciated.
Some people regard Cinema as mere “entertainment” and drivel to be dismissed, while on the other hand some despise it and dissect it as profound propaganda — especially among “spiritual people” and “truthers” who are so self-absorbed in their heads and egos they’re barely alive in their souls and spirits.
The Wise Way
I’ve noticed that many ~Spiritual People~ in particular “watch movies wrong,” acting like victims to televised frequencies and pretending to be Awake™ while fearing being brainwashed, which is just oxymoronic.
Movies have never negatively encoded me. I’ve noticed some degree of negative encoding and entrainment with the News, but not with Movies.
Because Movies inspire me. They fan the flames of my Soul & Spirit in a way that transcends whatever mundane worldly mechanisms might be embedded in it.
And perhaps unlike other areas of my life, with Movies I’m in a safe & centered state and therefore pretty good at experiencing exernality without either identifying into it or being a victim of it. I’m here to live a little and have a good time along with the hard times, not become an ascetic monk in order to uplift my ego into False Enlightenment. (I do stay away from certain content, like Horror, which is toxic to the nervous system; and Rap, which is often super anti-Life and consciousness-reversed. But beyond that, I love Movies, Music, and other Media — because the best of that media is art which beckons the Soul to life.)
So, how to watch a Movie the right way?
The “spiritual way” to watch movies is to 1) stay centered in personal awareness and 2) get momentarily lost in the dream for the sheer fun of higher consciousness being able to immerse into density-experience and 3) let the content inspire whatever it does inside your own Soul and finally 4) sit with that inspiration and what it means for you and your life.
The inspirations that arise inside your consciousness from external media is the “true content” of that media. It’s what’s relevant for you. These inspirations are born from inside you, not implanted from outside you.
Sure, you can bitch about how the Nazis shifted the Hz pitch in Music and how Movies toil with symbols their directors probably don’t even know the significance of as part of a multi-millennia plan to enslave Humanity, but while there are aspects of truth in those things, that’s “dead content.” It’s something outside of you that simply is what it is. (Some things are oppressively dark and won’t inspire a lot of innocence due to their overbearing corruption. I’m not talking about that. I’m talking about average content depicting various experiences of the Human Condition.)
What really matters is, what is inside of you?
And what does the outside bring to life inside of you?
Depressing cynicism? Or the inspiration of your own Innocence?
The magic of Movies is that it can elicit unknown nuggets of your own consciousness and swell them up into your awareness. Feelings, emotions, sentiments, memories, imaginations, dreams, epiphanies, healings. There is so much inside of you — and Movies are simply a ‘spiritual mechanism’ which can elicit more of you into this world.
That’s the Magic of Movies.
That’s what movies have done for me.
They have reminded me of Life in ways big and small. So many times I have been left with Soul Shivers from a scene that reverberates to the core of my Spirit. I have felt inspired in my Innocence. I have felt humbled by the richness of the Human Condition. Movies have helped me heal wounds and fill in holes of ignorance. Movies have brought me to the tears of my Heart.
And back in 2010 when Western Medicine poisoned me with a needless antibiotic and failed to help me heal from it, when I became so depressed I just wanted to be dead, Movies were my lifeline. It was by watching the imaginary scenes, plots, and characters representing the Human Condition that I was inspired to make a commitment to my own Humanity behind my health condition.
Perhaps I wouldn’t be alive without Movies.
That is part of the Magic on offer: a depiction of Humanity serving as a tether to the core of our Spirit that makes our Soul shiver and compels our Human to forge ahead on the path of Life, with a bit more Awareness in our every step and interaction.
People who are asleep at the wheel of consciousness watch Movies for cheap entertainment.
People who are awake can watch Movies for inspired self-actualization.
How do you know whether you “should” watch a movie or not? If you see a poster or watch a trailer or hear about a title and feel mysteriously drawn to it, that’s the sign.
That’s the sign not that you should be “absorbing something external,” but rather that something external is going to activate something pure and deep within you which the world will never own.
Following those nudges have changed my life, deepened my soul, and kept me alive.
